Louise and Alex got married back in September 2005 at Augill Castle in Cumbria. Their wedding would have been one of the last ones I photographed on film and Louise recently got in touch to have all the photos digitized (scanned to disk) as a surprise for Alex on Valentine's Day. Going through all the films brought back the memories of Florence the vintage bus, the horse and carriage, being locked in the church grounds - see below - and the re-enactment of a scene from the film Kill Bill for the video! A memorable day at this picturesque boutique hotel.
It is a tradition at the local church to lock the bride and groom inside the gates by quite literally tying the gates together with rope! The couple are then only released when they are deemed to have thrown enough money over the gate to the waiting children on the other side.
